Jason Chaffetz: one minute. mr. chaffetz: americans are concerned with not only with the safety of their food but the ability to put food on their table. the food and drug administration has made change to labels which will add no safety benefits or protections to consumers. these forced changes will result in higher prices for vitamins and minerals many americans rely on to maintain a healthy diet.

Jason Chaffetz: the supplement and nonprescription drug consumer protection act was passed into law. it requires reporting of serious adverse events. that's a good thing. but the f.d.a. has mandated that label changes which were only given to the industry one year to comply with.
